Chair’s Report

In the words of Paul Wellstone, “Politics is about the improvement of people’s lives.” Given the disunity in the current political climate, it is more important than ever for us to take Wellstone’s words to heart and put them into practice. If we truly want to rehabilitate civic discourse, we must start by building sincere relationships with our neighbors from a wide range of backgrounds and beliefs. If we aren’t willing to listen to the needs of our neighbors, we can’t offer the right assistance. So if you feel disheartened or frustrated by the current state of politics at the national, state, or local level, please consider joining our movement. Ordinary citizens can accomplish extraordinary things when they work together toward a common cause, as long as we point our boat in the right direction and start rowing.
There was fantastic turnout at our March Business Conference and Central Committee meeting. In order to hold fast to our commitment to build interpersonal relationships, our Central Committee will go back to holding more of these in-person meetings (with an accessible remote option) every other month. We are also excited to launch the new website! Our hope is that you will stay tuned online for future announcements about in-person events where we will build community and work together to improve the lives of our neighbors.
